Carta a Ray Bradbury

Querido Sr. Bradbury,

Escribo desde un lugar y momento donde la imaginación será un arma poderosa. Tiempos turbulentos donde el hombre peleará a favor o en contra de su propia humanidad. Y no me queda más que agradecer a quienes me han regalado esa última arma secreta.

Sus libros me han acompañado desde niño, hemos sido inseparables. Me enseñaron a vivir en ese oscuro rincón de mi mente a donde siempre huyo para sentirme seguro. Donde el silencio y los recuerdos se convierten en imágenes. Y donde las imágenes se convierten en mi alimento.

Hoy tengo 28 años y aún me sorprendo a mí mismo escondido en una antigua ciudad de Marte. Lejos de la humanidad y su egocentrismo. Lejos de las guerras y lejos del dolor. Lejos de esta realidad. Armado de cohetes espaciales y rayos láser para pelear batallas imposibles de ganar.

Dejo uno de sus libros en un parque, esperando que cambie la vida de otro niño, igual que cambió la mía, y le de armas poderosas para un futuro incierto.

Prometo mantener encendida esa minúscula llama que muchos han dejado morir. Cuando llegue mi momento le buscaré en las calles de Marte y en los tatuajes del Hombre Ilustrado, en el viento del País de Octubre y en las hojas del Árbol de las Brujas. Mientras, le deseo un buen viaje por el universo.

Festival Hallucinations Collectives

I've been invited to exhibit some of my work at the Festival Hallucinations Collectives in Lyon, France. The festival will be a tribute to sci-fi writer Philip K. Dick and I will be doing two pieces inspired by his work. One will be a portrait, the other one will be based on the book "The Man in the High Castle".
